Julie, our Laran mother tree, is selected for fruit collection. Height: 30m; DBH size: 70cm; Age: >25 years.
Ripened Laran fruits are collected for seed extraction. Each fruit provides over 8,000 seeds.
The seeds are sowed in germination trays in our nursery for 2 months before transplanting.
Seedlings are then transplanted into 64-cell tube trays.
Our nursery has the capacity of germinating 100,000 to 150,000 seedlings per month.
After 3 to 5 months, the seedlings are then selected and trimmed before they
are transferred to Hardening Area to be strengthened.
Once the seedlings reach 15cm in height, healthy ones are selected and transferred to the open area.
The selected seedlings are then further strengthened for 2 weeks before they are planted in the field.
The roots of the seedlings are regularly checked to ensure healthy plants.
After a year in the field, the trees reach approximately 2 to 3 metres in height.
After 2 years, they grow to approximately 6 metres tall.
After 3 years, a forest plantation is born.
The trees mature after 5 to 8 years, and are ready to be harvested.
